Lynyrd Skynyrd’s new album God & Guns will be released on Septmber 29th on Roadrunner Records offshoot ‘Loud & Proud’.

The new album features 13 tracks embodying Skynyrd’s classic sound. It was recorded in Nashville with legendary producer Bob Marlette. The first single from the album, “Still Unbroken,” will be shipping to rock radio in July, and will be accompanied by a new video, set to shoot in Nashville next month. God & Guns marks the first set of new studio material since 2003’s Vicious Cycle.

Lynyrd Skynyrd will be co-headlining the Rock Rebels Tour in the U.S. this summer with their good friend Kid Rock.

2009 marks a key point in Lynyrd Skynyrd’s storied career. The band has enjoyed continued success in the past few years including a recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction. Their American rock anthem “Sweet Home Alabama” has passed the 2 million mark in downloaded ringtones, and their last single, “Red White & Blue” reached #1 on the Rock Charts.

Last summer, the band co-headlined one of the most successful tours of the year on their inaugural run with Kid Rock, and they’ve just completed a sellout tour of the UK. High profile appearances, including the show closer at last year’s VH1 Fashion Rocks helped to expose the band to a younger audience. With a catalog of over 60 albums and sales beyond 30 million, Lynyrd Skynyrd remains a major cultural icon that appeals to all generations.

Paul Anthony will be catching up with Rickey Medlocke again in September, and playing exclusive tracks from the new album.
