Fall Out Boy's recent split rumours are being played down by management, who state the band is in the same position it was when it announced a hiatus last year, and no decision has been taken about the future. Meanwhile, the band and friends have been indulging in some light-hearted fun via Twitter:
Pete Wentz: Open try outs for Fall Out Boy. Contestants will be sent to an island of 14 year old girls where they will be voted off.
Mark Hoppus, Blink 182: For the record: as of right now, I am also quitting Fall Out Boy.
John Mayer: I am replacing Mark Hoppus in Fall Out Boy. As de factor leader I am thrilled to announce Queensryche's Geoff Tate is our new singer.
Hoppus: As of this moment I am replacing John Mayer in the band 'John Mayer'.
Ashlee Simpson, Wentz' wife: I joined Fall Out Boy. The rider is white candles and caviar. We're playing Lilith Fair... Argh, I quit Fall Out Boy too.

Original Judas Priest singer Al Atkins' band, Holy Rage, has announced a new lineup featuring guitarist Vince O'Regan (Bob Catley, Eden) and bassist Steve Mercy (Abigail's Mercy). Guitarist Chris Johnson explains: "Al began writing songs with the guys and shocked us by announcing he wanted them in the band too. After listening to the songs and rehearsing together it really did sound like a killer idea. Not only are we sounding even heavier, it also seems like we've played together for ever. We wish Scott Dallow all the best - there's no ill feeling and we'll all be having a beer very soon."
