Listen Live
Listening via the website
You can listen to Rock Radio online 24/7 via our online player, so if you're browsing the net why not have Rock Radio in the background?
We currently stream in Windows Media format, therefore you'll need the latest version of Windows Media Player installed or a browser application that can play 'WMA' streams.
Windows Users can download Windows Media Player for free.
Mac Users should download Windows Media Player 9 for Mac which is available for free from Microsoft.
If you have Flip4Mac installed then you must disable their plugin to listen to Rock Radio.
- Open the Flip4Mac pane from System Preferences and unselect "Use Flip4Mac WMV Browser plug-in".
- Restart Safari.
- Listen to Rock Radio
- It is recommended that you re-enable Flip4Mac after listening.
Mac Users may have some success by downloading Flip4Mac which has both free and varying levels of paid for versions. Please note, a recent change to Flip4Mac means you will also need the Flip4Mac Streaming Utility application plugin.
To listen, simply click on the button below to launch the player window. Unfortunately due to music licensing restrictions we can only accept connections from UK registered connection addresses (IP address).
Listening via a Wi-Fi Radio
If you've got a Wi-Fi Radio then you can connect to Rock Radio and enjoy all your favourite music and presenters. It's really simple to setup, most internet radios have access to a directory that lists all the stations - we work hard to make sure that we're listed in these with the correct address. If you can't find us in yours then let us know, by using the interact form on the Frequently Asked Questions page and we'll work at getting it added.
You can normally also add an address manually on a Wi-Fi Radio as to where you want to listen. To access Rock Radio simply use the address below:
http://streaming.gmgradio.com/rockradiomanchester.asx
Please note that we only allow Wi-Fi Radios to connect through this address and due to music licensing restrictions we can only accept connections from UK registered connection addresses (IP address).
