Drummer Smith out of Trivium

Travis Smith is now officially out of Trivium - and the band have announced temporary replacement Nick Augusto as their full-time sticksman.
Smith, voted Metal Hammer's Best Drummer in the Universe in 2006, pulled out of the American outfit's US tour last year, citing "personal issues." He'd been a member since they formed in 2000. Augusto, who was once a drum tech for the band, stood in. A few weeks ago it was rumoured that Smith wouldn't be returning and the band were looking for a new member.
Now frontman Matt Heafy says: "We're really happy to have our good friend and fellow Floridian join the Trivium family.
"Nick's drumming is very technical and he brings a real intense energy to the band. We can't wait for everyone to hear the new song, Shattering the Skies Above, that we just recorded with Nick. I think it's the best Trivium recording we've ever done - his drumming pushed us to a new level."
The new track will appear in the video game God of War and will be released on the associated Blood & Metal EP on March 1.
Trivium will tour the UK with Chimaira, Whitechapel and Rise to Remain in March, before returning to work on the follow-up to 2008 album Shogun:
