How to make RATM Christmas No1

RATM: We can do it...
RATM: We can do it...

The race for Christmas number one is on - and with your help Rage Against the Machine can beat X-Factor winner Joe Whatever-his-name-is to the top spot.

The Facebook campaign now boasts over 710,000 members, and if every one of them buys a download single, there's a good chance of hitting the target.

But there are strict rules in place about which downloads count towards the chart placement - so pay attention and make sure your purchase isn't disqualified.

Chart rules

1. ONLY buy using the links below. That helps the Facebook campaigners keep a rough count of how things are going. No one makes a 'cut' from using these links - it just helps.

2. ONLY buy from now up until Saturday, December 19, at 23.59 (one minute to midnight).

3. DON'T try to buy loads of copies - you'll be disqualified from the chart count. If you want to buy more than once, buy THREE TIMES ONLY.

Where to buy

29p at Amazon - despite the confusion this DOES count

49p at TuneTribe - buy TRACK 2 (This is the live version but it counts)

67p at Tesco Digital - buy TRACK 2

70p at Pay.com - only track on the page

79p at HMV.com - buy TRACK 1

99p at iTunes - buy TRACK 2 (click on View in iTunes on the right)

£1.07 at WE7 - buy TRACK 2

£1.19 at 7Digital - buy TRACK 2

Re Amazon - unable to establish as fact whether their sales count or not. Depends on the dealer price they paid Sony, and we don't know that. Safer not to buy from Amazon!

I have had the great pleasure in hopefully saying farewell to Christmas X-factor. I am so sick of this program destroying origional songs. They should be forced to write there own or at least sing new ones. LEAVE ROCK ALONE

**MISTAKE IN THE ARTICLE**

Amazon DOES count, although they are selling it at 29p they are actually buying it in at 40p and selling it at a loss to get customers onto the site, so it still counts.

This has been confirmed with Amazon.

(Not sure about Tesco though)
