Motorhead Mikkey’s animal passion
That’s no ‘philthy animal’ with Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee – it’s his maine coon cat, Ester. And if you want to see members of Opeth, Amon Amarth and others like you’ve never seen them before, they’re all in a charity calendar.
Sweden Rocks for Animal Rights was the brainchild of Djurens Ratt (Animal Rights Sweden), who decided to ask some of the nation’s biggest stars to be photographed with their pets.
The resulting calendar features this picture of Dee and Ester, and eleven other shots, which is now available to buy online.
Marit Mossback of Djuerns Ratt says: “We’re really excited we were able to make the calendar. All the artists and photographers contributed their time and effort for free, so all profits will go to Animal Rights Sweden’s work.
“We asked Mikkey if he’d like to be photographed with Ester, and he was happy to help.
“The other artists are the Hives, Amon Amarth, Sonic Syndicate, Dead by April, Soundtrack of our Lives, Millencolin, Opeth, Dia Psalma, Crucified Barbara, Mando Diao and Hammerfall.
“We’d like to thank them all for helping us make such a rocking piece of wall art.”
