Tyler's replacement will be temporary

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry says Steven Tyler's replacement will be temporary, and the band realise they couldn't get rid of their singer and keep going in a full-time capacity.
Sammy Hagar is the latest singer to be linked with the job, after Paul Rodgers, Chris Cornell and Billy Idol were removed from the running in recent weeks.
While wayward frontman Tyler refuses to discuss the matter directly with his bandmates, it now seems that he wants time away but does intent to return, and the band want him back but don't want to wait and do nothing in the meantime.
In his latest statement Tyler tells Classic Rock: "We're not daft enough to think we can replace Steven, and that's not our plan.
"But after 40 years of working together we just don't want to stop. How long will Steven be away? He says it'll be two years but I believe he'll be back a lot sooner. It may end up we only do 10 shows with the new person.
"We know at lot of vocalists and have sounded out some of them, but right now no one's been offered the job."
The plan is for Aerosmith plus star guest to hit the road this summer, with South American and European dates already pencilled in. And they'll take the opportunity to play some tracks they haven't done in recent years.
Perry says: "This should be a really exciting time. It's a chance to do something a little different - before Steven returns."
The guitarist is currently touring his latest Joe Perry Project album, Have Guitar Will Travel, and will support Bad Company on their UK tour in April.
