Todd Rundgren will perform his classic album A Wizard, a True Star in full for the first time in the UK on February 6, 2010, at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. The first half of the show will be a best-of set, followed by full playback of his second solo LP, originally released in 1973. Tickets are on sale now at www.seetickets.com.
Placebo will hold an online playback of their new album, Battle for the Sun, tomorrow (Friday) at 9am. Fans are required to sign up before the event at www.placeboworld.co.uk. The playback will be available until Sunday night and the album will be released on June 8. The band announced a UK tour recently.
YouTube may be ready to resume offering premium music video content after the Performing Rights Society in the UK dropped their artist fees from 0.22p per stream to 0.085p. So, for example, a video which has been watched 100,000 time would now be worth £8500 to the artist rather than £22,000. However, PRS will increase the royalty rate to 10.5% of anything earned by the host site for offering material. It was formerly 8%. A YouTube spokesman says: "We welcome any efforts to make costs more realistic, but we're still in discussions". The site removed premium content for UK users in February.
Kiss will be supported by Buckcherry on their US tour, which is made up entirely of dates voted for by fans.
The Stupids have announced their comeback album and tour. The English punk-thrashers formed in the 1980s and are credited with popularising the genre. They re-released their back-catalogue last year to some acclaim. Tour dates:
