Live Fast Die Young – Episode 6

Jeff Buckley
Over the last six weeks on Rock Radio, Paul Gambaccini has looked at the numerous occupational hazards faced by young pop stars in our series Live Fast Die Young.
As much as over indulgence and dangerous travel are the most common reasons for an early rock and roll death, there are also those musicians whose early passing was down to violent or accidental and unpredictable events.
This week we'll hear about:
- Jeff Buckley who drowned in the Mississippi river
- The suicide of Joy Division lead singer Ian Curtis
- And Karen Carpenter whose struggle with an eating disorder eventually lead to her death
