Grohl: Something's ended with the Foos

Dave Grohl says the world needs a break from the Foo Fighters, and that's why they're putting themselves on hold for a while.
After 15 years the band are releasing a best-of compilation with two new tracks including current single Wheels. They also played a free streaming gig from their studio over the weekend.
Grohl tells CNN: "The band decided to take a break not because we wanted to stop making music - but because we thought the world needed to take a break from us.
"This greatest hits record is the end of something. It's time to move on into this next chapter, or another phase. It'll be different in whatever way - I don't know.
"It's nice to know what's going to happen next. We're going to do some shows in Europe but after that, I don't even know when I'm going to see these guys."
If and when the band do reconvene, the former Nirvana drummer has an ambition left to achieve with them: "I want to try to make the next record in my garage - I'm serious!"
Meanwhile, Grohl's other project, Them Crooked Vultures, have released new track Mind Eraser No Chaser as a free track on iTunes. The band, also featuring John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, will release their self-titled debut album on November 17.
